Status

Producing oil and gas fields, continuing redevelopment and production optimization activities.

History

ROC farmed into a Production Sharing Contract which includes the D35, D21 and J4 fields, effective 1 January 2014 until December 2034.  The PSC terms are designed for field redevelopment and enhanced oil recovery to commercially encourage progressive incremental oil development. A key commercial milestone of 30 million barrels produced was reached in September 2022.

The first phase of redevelopment activities was completed in 2015/16 with 4 wells drilled in the D35 field, well interventions and facility debottlenecking projects completed.

The next phase of redevelopment included four infill production wells in D21 and seismic acquisition in 2017.

Redevelopment activities continued in 2018 with completion of three wells at J4.  A D35 drilling campaign of 10 wells was successfully completed from August 2018 to August 2019.  A 4-well drilling project at D35-B platform was completed from November 2019 to April 2020.

A flexible gas pipeline was installed from the D35A complex to the D35-C satellite platform to deliver high pressure gas, providing gas for injection pressure support and gas-lift. A D21 redevelopment project of 6 wells was completed from October 2020 to April 2021. To accommodate the new wells, a deck extension with 3 new conductor slots was completed in 2019.

A work-over campaign in 2023 was executed to resolve integrity issues in two production wells and one gas injector well.

In 2024 a third D21 drilling campaign was completed with two wells being abandoned and sidetracked.

Currently pursuing further drilling and optimization opportunities across the D35, J4 and D21 fields.

Geologically, the Fields lie within the western Balingian province of the Sarawak Basin.
