DRILLING ACTIVITY UPDATE: MAURITANIA AND UK (30-09-2003)
KEY POINTS
Saltfleetby-7, appraisal/development well, onshore UK, suspended pending arrival of specialised completion equipment.
Woodside
Mauritania Pty Ltd, Operator of the Mauritania Area B Joint Venture, reports
that, at 0000 hours GMT on 30 September 2003, completion operations were
underway prior to production testing the Chinguetti-4-5 combined appraisal
and early development well.
The Saltfleetby-7 well remains suspended pending the arrival of expandable liner required to allow the well to drill out of the 7 casing shoe at 2,514 metres through the main Westphalian gas reservoir and on to a potential gas accumulation in the Namurian. The relevant equipment has been sourced and mobilised and operations are expected to recommence within a fortnight.

DRILLING ACTIVITY UPDATE: MAURITANIA AND UK (23-09-2003)
KEY POINTS
Saltfleetby-7 appraisal/development well, onshore UK, suspended pending arrival of specialised completion equipment.
Woodside Mauritania Pty Ltd, Operator of the Mauritania Area B Joint Venture, has advised that, at 0000 hours GMT on 23 September 2003, preparations had commenced to run completions prior to production testing the Chinguetti-4-5 combined appraisal and early development well. Since the
last report issued on 19 September 2003, the acquisition of wireline logs
was completed and a 9 5/8" casing string was run.
The Saltfleetby-7 appraisal/development well has set a plug inside the 7" casing and been suspended, at a depth of 2,514 metres MD, for a period of two to three weeks in order to allow the mobilisation of specialised completion equipment. This equipment, which has become a requirement now that the reservoir pressure of the Westphalian sands has been established, is designed to allow the well to meet its targeted dual objective of producing from the Westphalian and the potential Namurian reservoirs.

UPDATE ON CHINGUETTI 4-5 WELL IN MAURITANIA (18-09-2003)
Wireline logging, at a Total Depth of 2,605 metres, of the Chinguetti 4-5 appraisal/early development well has essentially confirmed the pre-drill expectation for this well in terms of the thickness, quality and hydrocarbon content of the reservoir. As a result, the Joint Venture plans to conduct a production test. In this well the reservoir sands appear to be of generally good to excellent quality with a gross oil column in the order of at least 50 metres and a net to gross ratio in excess of 50%.

DRILLING ACTIVITY UPDATE (16-09-2003)
KEY POINTS
Chinguetti-4-5 appraisal/early development well, offshore Mauritania, is preparing to run wireline logs at Total Depth.
As at 18.00 hours local UK time on 15 September 2003, the Saltfleetby-7 appraisal/development well had reached 2,671 metres Drill Depth (mDD) at an inclination of 78° from vertical in the Saltfleetby Gas Fields main Westphalian gas reservoir. After setting 7 casing at 2,588 mDD the current operation is pulling out of hole to run a milling assembly to clear damage to the 7 casing shoe. The top of the Westphalian gas reservoir was encountered essentially as prognosed and, as expected, the reservoir at this location appears to be in good communication with the producing wells. The primary target of the well, the potential Namurian gas reservoir, is expected to be encountered some 200 metres beyond the current total depth, subject to the precise well trajectory. The forward plan is to re-establish drilling of the 6 hole after milling the casing shoe and to drill ahead into the shales separating the Westphalian and Namurian reservoirs, case off the Westphalian and then drill the horizontal section of the well in the Namurian target sands. Because Saltfleetby-7 is at an interesting stage ROC will resume its practice of reporting the well's progress on a weekly basis.
Woodside Mauritania Pty Ltd, Operator of the Mauritania Area B Joint Venture, has advised that at 00:00 hours local time on 16 September 2003, the Chinguetti-4-5 appraisal/early development well was at a final Total Depth of 2,605 metres and the hole was being conditioned prior to the acquisition of wireline logs. Hydrocarbon shows will only be reported after wireline logs have been acquired and evaluated.
