2011 drilling activity
A 20-well development drilling program at Zhao Dong China is in progress. At the end of 3Q, nine producers and two injector wells had been drilled. An appraisal well was successfully drilled in Zhanghai block, China, and put on production in 3Q. Production testing of the Castanha appraisal wells drilled in 4Q 2010 in Angola was completed in 1Q 2011. The Gharabi-1 exploration well in Mauritania was plugged and abandoned in 1Q 2011.
2010 drilling activity
A 24-well development drilling program at Zhao Dong China was successfully completed on schedule and under budget. The exploration program in Angola which commenced at the end of 2009 was completed in 1Q 2010. Three appraisal wells were drilled on the Castanha discovery during 4Q 2010. The Tuatara-1 exploration well, in the newly acquired New Zealand permit operated by AWE, was plugged and abandoned in August 2010. The Cormoran-1 gas discovery was drilled in Mauritania in 4Q 2010.
