Zhao Dong Oil Fields

Activity status

• Producing.
• C, D and C4 Fields production is being augmented by development drilling.  A total of 14 producer wells and three injector wells were drilled during 2011. 
• The Zhanghai block appraisal well (ZD CP2N-H-1) was drilled from the C4 platform in 3Q 2011.  The well was completed and production commenced through existing C4 facilities on 22 August 2011.  Technical work on the Zhanghai and Chenghai blocks is in progress.  A second appraisal well is planned to be drilled in one of the blocks during 2012. 
• A subsea oil pipeline from Zhao Dong to the Dagang Refinery was fully commissioned and commenced deliveries on 19 October 2011.  Utilisation of the pipeline has eliminated transportation of crude oil cargoes by barges: a method that has previously caused temporary production and delivery interruptions due to adverse weather conditions and Tanggu port capacity issues.

Project Capital Investment

• ROC acquired its 24.5% interest for US$260 million, effective 1 July 2006.
• A 5-year, US$373 million IDP for the C&D oil fields was approved in February 2007 and commenced immediately.
• A 5-year, US$150 million UDP for the C4 field was approved in February 2007.

Remaining 2P Reserves

• C&D and C4 Fields - ROC net 5.9 MMBBL at 31 December 2011.  

First Production

• Commenced 2003 from the C&D Fields.
• Commenced 2008 from the C4 unitised field and the ERA.

Average Gross Production Rate for Quarter Ending 31 March 2012

• C&D Fields - 18,313 BOPD (ROC net 4,487 BOPD). 
• C4 Field - 1,455 BOPD (ROC net 168 BOPD).
• Zhanghai block - 109 BOPD (ROC net 43 BOPD).
